I'm a beginner that has never played piano or anything alike before. I've heard issues with the Yamaha like for example that if you use headphones there's a hissing sound, and the keys making more noise than the CT-S400. But people also say that the Yamaha sounds better than the CT-S400. I do not care that much about portability, but I do care.

I've recently bought a Casio CT-S400 keyboard, so I've had the opportunity to personally compare it against the Yamaha PSR-E373, which I purchased about year ago. Both of them are good products (I'd say excellent, considering their price tag), and show that we are living good times regarding entry level keyboards, as they have sounds and specs which were unthinkable of just a few years.

So when comparing it to Casio, you'd better compare it to X-3000/5000, not to X-700. So if E373 is sold for same price as X700 (here it is not), then of course, go for E-373. Quote.

I've found a fair number of comments on the Yamaha and the Roland, with lovers and haters of both. So far however I'm coming up short on the Casio so I'm wondering if anyone here has.
